*ONLINE* Sunday Concerts Fundraiser: Jubilee Quartet

** At the time of announcement this is an ONLINE only event — however, we may in the future also make physical tickets available. If this becomes possible we will announce it here. Please register for an online ticket using the “Book Now” link **

** Conway Hall is a charity and we politely ask you to add a donation of at least £5 when registering. **

Conway Hall’s historic Sunday Concerts series is presenting its 2020 Autumn Season as a series of live online performances via Youtube Live, using state of the art live-stream equipment to give you the very best in audio and visual quality.

This concert is a fundraiser to support the continuation of our concerts. We have had to cancel the majority of our concerts for the remainder of the year, and since our longstanding concert series is precious to so many, we really need your help to enable us to continue through these uncertain times. Any donations you are able to give would be more appreciated now than ever before.

Beginning with the ‘Father of the String Quartet’ and concluding with Beethoven’s late essay, the Jubilee Quartet’s programme offers an opportunity to hear three of the great quartet composers in the warm, intimate acoustic of Conway Hall. The Strad wrote of their recent disc of Haydn Quartets: “Eloquent…Outstanding…performed with spontaneity and flair”. They are firm Conway Hall favourites and we look forward greatly to their return.

Programme:

Haydn | Quartet in E flat Op. 20/1

Schubert | Quartettsatz D703
Beethoven | Quartet in A minor Op. 132

About the Jubilee Quartet:

Fresh from the release of their debut album in 2019, the Jubilee Quartet have established a sound that is both “brilliant and distinctive… fresh and new… and makes the music’s architecture expressive in its own right” (The Telegraph). The international London based quartet are the winners of the First Prize at the Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award in Lugano, Switzerland, as well as the Val Tidone International Chamber Music Competition, and they were recently named as the Associate String Quartet at the prestigious Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. For more info, visit their website.

About our Sunday Concerts:

Founded in the 1880s, our chamber music concert series is the longest-running of its kind in Europe. Conway Hall was purpose-built in 1929 to host concerts and lectures, and they have continued here until the present day. The ethos of “affordable classical music for all” still remains.

** This performance will be live-streamed online using YouTube Live. A link to join the talk will be sent to ticketholders on the day of the event. **
