MAIN HALL

Our biggest space, with a standard theatre capacity of 400, spread over the balcony and ground floor seating, the Main Hall retains its period features and is internationally renowned for its excellent acoustics.

The Main Hall is famous for hosting the longest run of classical concerts in the UK (which started in 1880 at the Society’s previous site), jazz concerts from the 1930s to the 1960s, a rare UK appearance from Muddy Waters and gigs by Crass and The Cure in 1970s. It has also hosted countless famous speakers, such as George Orwell, and historic events, including the conference of doctors that led to the founding of the NHS.

BAR

Our venue works with the independent drinks company Too Many Bars, who offer a paid bar for all of our public events.

Too Many Bars was formed in 2019 by Anthony Buck. With over 20 years’ experience working in the events and bar industry – from small cocktail-led private events to managing and licensing for large commercial festival bars – they specialise in providing consultation, management and delivery of event bars and staff for various occasions.

Too Many Bars also have their flagship cocktail bar and kitchen Ten to One in Haringey. In addition to trading six days a week, they also use the location for staff training, cocktail classes and drinks menu development for clients.

Conway Hall are proud to be working alongside Too Many Bars in creating an ethical drinks menu with sustainability at the heart of its project, in addition to creating bespoke drinks menus for our clients.
