One of the world’s most recorded cellists is joined by Artistic Director Simon Callaghan to explore a fascinating byway of the repertoire: Martinů’s rhythmic Arabesques, Ethel Smyth’s muscular Sonata, and Henriëtte Bosmans’s shimmering Impressions, before Beethoven’s sublime Op.69 Sonata grounds the evening in the classical tradition. Wallfisch‘s “alive to the drama of the score” artistry illuminates music both familiar and overdue for rediscovery.

This event is in the Main Hall, which is located on the ground floor. The balcony is accessible only by stairs.

All the ground-floor rooms are accessible by wheelchair. There is also an accessible toilet on the ground floor opposite the Brockway Room.
