We are looking for a dynamic Venue Sales Associate on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract to champion Conway Hall’s unique venue spaces and connect them with clients who share our values.
Conway Hall is a historic hub of progressive thought, ethical debate, and creative expression. As our Venue Sales Associate, you’ll be the welcoming voice that transforms initial curiosity into confirmed bookings, guiding clients from corporate conferences to community gatherings. You will work independently while collaborating with passionate colleagues across Operations, Finance, and Marketing to create exceptional experiences that reflect our commitment to free speech, rational enquiry, and social progress.
In this role, you’ll support our charitable mission through your work and champion our values of inclusivity, safety, and excellence in every client interaction.
Key tasks:
- Respond to venue enquiries via email, phone, and booking agencies with warmth and professionalism
- Conduct venue tours that showcase our spaces at their best
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional services and maximise booking value
- Master our Rendezvous booking system, ensuring accuracy across all departments
- Prepare Venue Hire Agreements and complete pre-event administration
- Manage invoicing, receipts, and financial records with meticulous attention to detail
- Ensure all bookings meet legal, licensing, and safety requirements
- Keep clients informed of our Terms and Conditions in a clear, helpful way
- Take a holistic view of our event calendar to prevent conflicts and protect our capacity
- Work closely with commercial partners (AV, catering, furniture suppliers) to enhance client offerings
- Partner with colleagues to continuously improve our venue hire services
- Contribute ideas to marketing strategies that attract the right clients
- Hit enquiry completion targets while maintaining exceptional service standards
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in customer care, client liaison, or events management
- Background in venue hire sales (ideally in a similar setting)
- Hands-on experience with booking systems
- Confidence managing communications across multiple digital platforms
- Attention to detail and strong administrative abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
What we offer
- 6-month fixed term contract
- £29,700 per annum
- 37.5 hours per week with some occasional out of office hours
- Flexible onsite/hybrid working arrangements (to be discussed)

6 MONTH FIXED TERM
Salary: £29,700 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 7.5 hours a day across office hours (with some occasional out of office hours)
Onsite/hybrid working – terms to be discussed
Holidays: Pro rata 24 days per annum, plus one week over the Christmas holiday period, (all based upon 37.5 hours per week).
Probation period: One month.
Pension: An optional stakeholder pension scheme is available. Employee contribution of 3% is matched by 5% from the employer.
