Ensemble V was formed to record the Piano Quintet of the British composer Kenneth V. Jones - and they take their name from his middle initial! In this concert they will combine Jones' rhythmically quirky and spookily atmospheric Quintet with some of his shorter works, and two absolute masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire by Mozart & Dvořák.

The Greenwich Trio perform much-loved masterworks to mark the centenary of the death of Gabriel Fauré: Fauré’s penultimate work, the Trio in D minor; Beethoven's epic Archduke; and Schubert’s sublime Notturno. You will also hear the UK premiere of Lalai by German composer Barbara Heller, who is celebrating her 88th birthday this year!

To close our season, Conway Hall's Artistic Director of Music Simon Callaghan joins the Berkeley Ensemble in a performance of Elgar’s only Piano Quintet, as well as a showcase of the works of English composer Dorothy Howell and her contemporaries.
