A Celebration of EU Nationals in Britain

Canbury Press and Conway Hall are pleased to present…

A unique evening to celebrate the contribution of EU nationals to British life.

Three million people from the 27 other European Nations live in the United Kingdom. From pulling out potatoes to putting in bathrooms, from caring for the elderly to running tech companies, to performing operas and heart surgery, they play a vital role in our national life.

Unfortunately Brexit has left many confused, hurt and fearful. Some are experiencing official hostility when trying to establish their right to stay in the country they have been pleased to call their home.

So we thought we would put on an evening to vaunt their economic contribution to the UK – while telling a few jokes. In the first half of the evening Ian Dunt, author of Brexit: What the Hell Happens Now? (Canbury Press), and another expert will illuminate the facts about EU nationals here. The second half will be devoted to fun (comedians to be announced).

This is an evening for – and with – EU nationals in the UK. It will raise funds for the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, which campaigns for justice in immigration and asylum law.
