Adlerian Society London Lecture:; ‘Shared Histories Common Philosophies: To what extent did Adler and Montessori influence each other’s thinking?’ Kirsty Wadsley Alfred Adler and Maria Montessori shared more than just their year of birth (1870). This interactive lecture will explore: the parallels between their philosophies of education and children’s development; their shared professional history; and their relevance to today’s world. Since graduating with a BA (Hons) Business Studies in 2005 Kirsty Wadsley has worked to widen participation into Higher Education at Nottingham Trent University the University of Sheffield St George’s University of London and Queen Mary University of London. She was central in developing the award winning www.tasteofmedicine.com website and has successfully achieved the Buttle UK Quality Mark for the support of care leavers at three universities. In 2012 Kirsty completed her MA in Social Justice and Education focusing on the effects of government policy on care leaver progression and she is currently studying for her Montessori-based Diploma in Early Childhood. Kirsty is actively engaged in ASIIP NASAP (North American Society for Adlerian Psychology) and AMEE (Association of Medical Education in Europe) presenting at numerous international conferences. Additionally she is an associate of The Bridge Group an independent policy association promoting social mobility through Higher Education and a member of the Association of University Administrators.; Admission £7 (concessions £4) All welcome.
