African Diaspora- Wider Steering Group meeting

In June a Partnership for Young London, Ubele and Conway Hall organised an event for professionals to look at the emerging themes in work with young people of the African Diaspora. We explored what is successful in terms of our practice and where we need to be more effective. Five key actions emerged from the session and we have developed Task and Finish Groups to follow those actions through. As well as the task and finish groups we want to create a wider steering group to feed in their specialist knowledge and help build a strategy for pulling all the work together.

The Task and Finish Groups are focused on the following:

• African Diaspora Youth Work Training – Racial Identity
• A Conversation in Youth Work with Young People of the African Diaspora
• African Diaspora – Challenging Practice Policy and Research
• African Diaspora Continuing the Conversation
• African Diaspora Developing a National Framework
