 AHS Convention & AGM 2016

The Main Convention will be held from 09:00-17:00 on Saturday 12th March at Conway Hall in London.

The AHS Annual General Meeting will take place at UCL on Sunday 13th March.

For members of AHS societies tickets to the entire convention and AGM (excluding accommodation) are £10, rates differ for non-students (£12 for BHA members) and there are tickets with subsidised accommodation included available (although these are limited in number, so book early).

We are delighted to say that we will be joined by BHA President Shappi Khorsandi, anti-creationist and prolific YouTuber Aron Ra, and director of British Muslims for Secular Democracy Tehmina Kazi, alongside secular education campaigner Lilandra Ra, senior researcher in Islamic studies at the Quilliam Foundation Usama Hasan, feminist and Christian author Dianna E Anderson, schoolteacher and BHA trustee Alom Shaha, and evolutionary biochemist Nick Lane. Also speaking will be: philosopher Arif Ahmed; campaigner for feminism within the atheist community Cristina Rad; philosopher, author, and Provost of Centre for Inquiry UK Stephen Law; historian Victoria Stiles; and founder of Faith Matters which runs the Tell MAMA project (Measuring Anti-Muslim Attacks), Fiyaz Mughal.

AHS travel grants are also available so that no student should have to spend more that £25 to travel to the AHS convention and AGM so long as they submit an application in advance.

The convention is the biggest event in the AHS national calendar and this year’s promises to be a good one, we have a packed programme of fantastic speakers addressing a wide variety of topics relevant to our members.
