16th November 2016 · 6:45pm - 8:00pm
In person | Virtual event
Join how to: Academy for an unmissable evening with Alastair Campbell in a talk which will range from Brexit and Theresa May to the future of the Labour Party.
The talk will also also provide an insider look at the years after he left Downing Street when despite having left government, his level of involvement barely abated and he continued to advise Blair – and later Gordon Brown and Ed Miliband.
This period of Alastair’s diaries- 2003-2005 also covers the time when Lord Hutton prepared to publish his report, sparking a huge crisis for the BBC. A period when any joy in No. 10 was dwarfed by continuing difficulties in Iraq and when the Blair–Brown relationship was fracturing almost beyond repair and Campbell was tasked by both with devising a plan that would enable the two men to come together to fight a united election campaign.
Tickets: £35 – £75 (plus booking fee).
