Bloomsbury Festival: Belly Dance Workshop with Lucy Andrina
In this two-hour workshop, we will explore the fundamental movements in Egyptian style bellydance. From shimmies to figures of eight, you will try a variety of hip, chest, and arm movements to some of the main rhythms in bellydance. We will work with some classical oriental songs as well as some of the latest hits from the streets of Cairo. You will also understand some basic translations of lyrics and how to use your facial expressions to interpret this.

Lucy Andrina is bellydancer who spent 3 years training in Cairo, Egypt, with some of the best Egyptian teachers. She is passionate about sharing the core cultural concepts around bellydancing and how to tell the difference between styles of dance and music. She is a shimmy and hips queen and will share some secrets to getting your hips moving well! Get ready to shimmy and laugh a lot along the way!

This event is part of Bloomsbury Festival.
