Black History Month Talk & 3rd Anniversary Party

London Black Atheists are delighted to announce that Dr Gus Casely-Hayford will be giving a full talk followed by a Q&A on the Malian Kingdom as part of the Black History Month and 3rd Anniversary celebrations. Dr Gus Casely-Hayford is a British curator and cultural historian with Ghanaian roots. He is a King’s College Institute Associate (at King’s College London) and a Research Associate at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). In 2010, as part of the Wonderful Africa Season,[2] he presented Lost Kingdoms of Africa, (featured on an LBA discussion) for the BBC.

In 2008 The Black Power List named the Casely-Hayford family the most influential black family in the UK. In 2006 his sister, Margaret became the General Counsel, Director of Legal Services at The John Lewis Partnership. He is the brother of Joe Casely-Hayford OBE an International British designer, and Peter Casely-Hayford, whose film company, Twenty Twenty has made some of the UK’s most popular television programmes, such as The Choir and Brat Camp.

After the talk we will be having our 3rd Anniversary Party. We warmly welcome new members, long-standing members and friends to our annual social gathering for an evening of fun, music, dancing, poetry and good food.
