Bright Stars
1st December 2018 · 7:30pm - 9:30pm
In person | Virtual event
Bright Stars is presented by the not for profit charity organisation, the International Culture and Arts Exchange London (ICAEL).
ICAEL aims to build stronger relationships, integration and cooperation amongst different communities and ethnicities, and seek a meaningful contribution to a richer cultural landscape, and foster great understanding and appreciation of various artistic fields through high quality artistic and cultural productions, events and exhibitions. The organisation also aims to provide a venue to encourage the participation of ethnic minorities on the main stage and promote more minority talents in prestigious and exclusive venues usually off limits to them.
This concert features the Haraya Choir, a British-Filipino community a cappella ensemble that utilises and promotes the Filipino choral tradition in their varied repertoire that spans different styles and genres. All the members come from different professional backgrounds and are united by their love of music and singing, and passion for choral excellence.
Included in the Bright Stars programme are Christmas standards, favourites and classics like Stille Nacht (Silent Night), Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas & Deck the Hall, alongside other wonderful songs of love and hope.
Holborn Community Orchestra makes a special appearance to present a few numbers from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and join the choir in the rousing Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah for the evening’s finale.
Tickets: £15, £20 and £25
