Sunday Concerts: Chaos Quartet

Recently awarded prizes at the prestigious ARD International Music Competition in Munich and the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition, the Chaos String Quartet is quickly establishing itself on the international music scene.

Their Conway Hall début programme spans some two centuries, including some early works by Mozart, one of the pillars of the chamber music canon, Schubert’s ‘Death and the Maiden’, and György Kurtág’s 1989 quartet, written in homage to fellow composer, Endre Szervánszky.

Susanne Schäffer (violin)
Eszter Kruchió (violin)
Sara Marzadori (viola)
Bas Jongen (cello)

Programme:

Mozart | Quartet No.8 in F K.168
Kurtág | Officium breve in memoriam Andreae Szervánszky Op.28
Mozart | Quartet No.1 in G ‘Lodi’ K.80
Schubert | Quartet No.14 in D minor ‘Death and the Maiden’ D.810
