Conway Photography Group

The meetup sessions with photographer Grace Gelder are a mixture of theory, group discussion, practical exercises and individual tutorials. Each month there is a different theme and an assignment for the month which will build towards a selection of work for an exhibition in November at Conway Hall.

This year it kicks off on February 2nd (1.30pm-4.30pm) – and the first theme is Portrait Photography. The next dates are March 2nd, April 6th, May 4th, June 1st, July 6th, 3rd August, September 7th, October 19th and the final exhibition planning session will be decided later in the year. Themes will include: Photographer as Flaneur, Ethics and Complexities, Public vs Private, Photographic Rebels, New Approaches & Collaboration and two sessions on project development and editing.

There will be an additional exhibition visit and discussion in late February to see Diane Arbus: In the Beginning @ Hayward Gallery. Date TBC

The cost is £180, £150 Concession £120 full-time students. This includes 6 x 3 hour group sessions, 1 x 30 minute one to one tutorial, exhibition hanging and private opening. (This does not include printing costs.)
