Death of an Orange

Death of an Orange is a new bi-lingual play based on Ekjon Komolalebu (To Be An Orange). The play is written by the award-winning Bengali author Shahaduz Zaman in collaboration with Mukul and Ghetto Tigers and tells the story of the life and work of a modern Bengali poet, Jibanananda Das (b.1899 d.1954). He is one of the most revered Bengali poets, born and brought up in Bangladesh but little known outside of the country.

This play was written in celebration of the anniversary of 50 years of Bangladesh Independence and is translated from Bengali by Amy Parsons.
