Ensemble Augelletti CD Launch Concert – The Library of a Prussian Princess

The Library of a Prussian Princess

Anna Amalia, Princess of Prussia (1723-1787), was an extraordinary woman who made an enormous contribution to cultural life in 18th Century Berlin. Anna Amalia’s careful curation of 625 scores in an astonishing music library paint the musical portrait of a sophisticated and stylish musician, fascinated with the workings of musical line and texture. This programme highlights music from her personal library and includes music by Anna Amalia, JS Bach, Handel, CPE Bach, and Corelli.

This event launches Ensemble Augelletti’s debut recording of trio sonatas which was made possible due to generous support of The Continuo Foundation, Angel Early Music, The Martin Smith Foundation, The Nicholas Boas Charitable Trust, The Rainbow Dickinson Trust, Mr Nigel Jones & Mrs Françoise Valat-Jones, Mr Stanley Lowy, and one anonymous donor.

Ensemble Augelletti

The ensemble has performed on BBC Radio 3 ‘In Tune’ and ‘Early Music’ shows, in several UK Arts Festivals; London, Brighton, and York Early Music Festivals, and were winners of the FBAS young artist competition in Italy in 2019.
