Sunday Concerts: Fitzwilliam Quartet

“…these are performances born of honesty and of love: a deeply moving document of a great quartet and its unique connection to a composer…” – Gramophone

Winners of the first-ever Gramophone Award for Chamber Music and twice Grammy-nominated for Best Chamber Music Performance, the Fitzwilliam Quartet are Conway Hall regulars and we are pleased to welcome them back! Their recital offers a rare opportunity to hear American composer Amy Beach’s 1929 quartet alongside Beethoven and Shostakovich: a composer with whom the quartet worked and whose interpretations are renowned internationally.

Shostakovich | Quartet No.9 in E flat Op.117
