At the age of just 23, trombonist Michael Buchanan is widely regarded as an emerging artist of great interpretative intelligence and technical ability. His numerous recent competition successes, including receiving both the First Prize and Audience Prize at the ARD International Music Competition and the first prize at the Ian Bousfield International Trombone Competition, have led to recital and concerto engagements around Europe. He is also an orchestral musician, most recently being engaged by the Vienna Philharmonic as a contract member for the 2016-17 season. He is joined by his regular duo partner, Katarzyna Wieczorek.
