Navarra Quartet Daniel de Borah piano Magnus Johnston & Marije Johnston violins Simone van der Giessen viola Brian O’Kane ‘cello Mozart : Quartet in G K387 Mendelssohn : Quartet in D Op.44/1 Shostakovich : Piano Quintet in G minor Op.57 Since their formation in 2002 the Navarra Quartet has built an international reputation as one of the most dynamic and poetic string quartets of today. Selected for representation by the Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) from 2006 to 2010 they have been awarded the MIDEM Classique Young Artist Award a Borletti- Buitoni Trust Fellowship a Musica Viva tour Second Prize at the Melbourne International Competition and First Prize in the Florence International Competition. Australian pianist Daniel de Borah was a prize winner at the 2004 Sydney International Piano Competition and has since appeared as soloist with the English Chamber Orchestra the London Mozart Players and with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Barbican and Cadogan Halls London. Born in Melbourne Daniel studied at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest the St. Petersburg State Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Music London. His teachers have included Zsuzsa Eszto Mira Jevtic Nina Seryogina Tatyana Sarkissova and Alexander Satz.
