“One of the most interesting and innovative quartets of today” (BBC Music Magazine)
Three searching, war-haunted masterpieces from quartets at the height of their powers: Shostakovich’s terse Fourth, Schnittke’s fractured Third, and Beethoven’s enigmatic, valedictory Op.135. The Noûs Quartet – praised as among today’s most innovative ensembles – bring fearless intensity to music that asks the deepest questions and answers them unflinchingly.
