 Performance Workshop: Text That Moves

Come an spend an evening with some of the best, brightest and most inspiring theatre, dance and movement practitioners in the country. Learn new skills, release hidden talents, improve your practice and create new work.

This workshop is open to everybody and is the latest in a series of Monday evenings at Conway Hall. We’ll guide you if you are a newcomer and stretch you if you are an experienced professional.

Wear clothing that you can easily move in.

This event will be led by Sean Bruno.

This workshop will play with methods for merging text and the spoken word with movement and dance based work.

We will first look at the way text, spoken word and movement work the performance space and ways in which they can compliment or conflict with each other. Then, using fairy tales, short fiction and pop culture as resources, the participants will be guided through a series of exercises which will encourage them to use movement and spoken word to create original and extraordinary micro-performances.

Suitable for movement-based practitioners interested in using text or spoken word to create new work or those interested in exploring new ways to create text for performance.
