The Piatti Quartet make a welcome return to our series with a rare performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ ‘Household Music’, a highlight of their recent album on Resonus, which garnered rave reviews across the press.
Acclaimed clarinettist Sacha Rattle joins the quartet for Brahms’ much-loved quintet, composed in 1891 for the clarinettist Richard Mühlfeld, who was also the inspiration for the composer’s clarinet trio and two sonatas.
