Sunday Concerts:
Rautio Trio + Pre-Concert Recital with Boreas Trio
23rd November 2025 · 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Doors open: 5:00pm
In person

“Rautio’s instrument has an unusually warm and rounded tone, which melds and contrasts satisfyingly with Victoria Simonsen’s cello and Gordon’s violin…And these players make the most of Beethoven’s playfulness, notably in the E flat major work’s finale, where the fortepiano provokes some mischievous squeaks from the violin.” (BBC Music Magazine)
Since releasing their debut album of Mozart Trios in 2016, the Rautio Trio has emerged as one of today’s finest chamber ensembles, known for their refined and powerfully expressive performances. With a passion for performing 18th and 19th century repertoire on both modern and period instruments, they have developed a fresh and engaging approach to their interpretations of historical masterworks.
The trio has released four critically acclaimed albums with Resonus Classics and are frequently heard on BBC Radio 3. They have performed at the Wigmore Hall, Kings Place, South Bank, Bridgewater Hall, throughout the UK and in France, Austria and Germany.
Pre-Concert Recital with Boreas Trio
Artistic Director Simon Callaghan heard the Boreas Trio at the Guildhall School earlier this year and had to invite them to play at Conway Hall. Their flair, enthuasiasm and synchronicity in this most colourful of repertoire is something not to be missed!
