Rhinegold Live presents Mary Bevan & Richard Peirson: The Stages of Love 6.15pm drinks reception 7.00pm recital Mary Bevan recently made her house debut at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro to much acclaim with critics noting the “impact” of her stand out performance. Here she performs a programme of music for voice and piano exploring the various stages of love accompanied by ENO repetiteur Richard Peirson. Programme: Infatuation Wolf – Andenken; O wär dein Haus (Italienisches Liederbuch) Schönberg – Schenk mir deinen Goldenen Quilter – Love’s Philosophy Flirtation Strauss – Ständchen (Sechs Lieder Op. 2 No. 2) Wolf – Du denkst mit einem Fädchen (Italienisches Liederbuch) Mendelssohn – Hüt du dich Consummation Debussy – C’est l’extase langoureuse (Ariettes Oubliées) Charpentier – La mort des Amants Life together Fauré – Notre Amour Mendelssohn – Bei der Wiege Wolf – Schweig einmal still; Wie lange schon (Italienisches Liederbuch) Parting and Death Peirson – Echo Britten – Salley Gardens Wolf – Mir ward gesagt (Italienisches Liederbuch) Schumann – Requiem This concert is followed by a Q&A which will be conducted by Ashutosh Khandekar Editor of Opera Now magazine. There are 150 pre-registered tickets available and each ticket must be applied for separately.
