 Ruby Wax on Mindful Living

This is a special opportunity for Action for Happiness supporters to engage in a lively discussion with Ruby as she explores the power of mindfulness practice and how we can learn to apply it in the ups and downs of daily life.

“This event is your passport to saner living. I might not be sane myself but I do a pretty good imitation!” ~ Ruby Wax

“Ruby Wax has written a guide to mindfulness that’s as hilarious as it is useful. Drawing on the latest science, she offers insightful, irreverent advice on how to improve every aspect of our lives” ~ Arianna Huffington

Ruby Wax is one of Britain’s best-loved comedians, writers, and mental health campaigners and has spent three decades working on stage, television and radio. She has done a huge amount to raise awareness of mental illness and help end the stigma associated with depression. She has spoken openly about her own battles with depression and is an ambassador for the Time to Change campaign.

Ruby is best-selling author of Sane New World: Taming the Mind and A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled. In recent years she has done a series of groundbreaking and entertaining live shows relating to mental health and mindfulness. The shows end in Q&A sessions where audience members are able to open up about their own experiences.

In 2013, Ruby graduated from Oxford University with a master’s degree in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. She also holds a postgraduate certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling. In 2015 she was awarded an OBE for services to mental health.

Doors will open at 18:30 and the event will start at 19:00
