 Small Steps to Happiness

Join us for an inspiring evening with author Rachel Kelly in conversation with Jane Garvey (BBC Woman’s Hour) about her journey from depression to happiness.

Rachel Kelly was trying to have it all as a journalist, wife and mother, yet she nearly lost everything through depression. Having overcome a very dark time in her life, she now campaigns for mental health and is on a mission to help others discover the simple steps which have helped her lead a happier life.

Rachel Kelly is an author, journalist and mental health campaigner from London. Her memoir Black Rainbow won the Spear’s Best First Book Award and her new book Walking on Sunshine shares 52 small steps to happiness from her experience of what works.

Jane Garvey is a radio broadcaster and was the first voice on BBC Radio 5 Live when it was launched in 1994. She then co-hosted the Drivetime programme for 13 years alongside Peter Allen. Jane now presents BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour.
