Sunday Concerts: Simon Callaghan & Friends

To close our spring 2022 series of concerts, Director of Music Simon Callaghan teams up with Conway Hall favourite, cellist Ashok Klouda and Benjamin Marquise Gilmore, Joint Concertmaster of the Philharmonia Orchestra.  Many of you will recall Ben’s exquisite playing when he stood in at short notice to perform with the Linos Piano Trio in February.  We can’t wait to welcome this distinguished ensemble in a programme of much-loved works for piano trio by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Schubert.

Benjamin Marquise Gilmore (violin)
Ashok Klouda (cello)
Simon Callaghan (piano)

Programme

Beethoven | Kakadu Variations Op.121
Mendelssohn | Trio in C minor Op.66
Schubert | Trio in B flat D898

About the Sunday Concerts

Founded in the 1880s, our chamber music concert series is the longest-running of its kind in Europe. Conway Hall was purpose-built in 1929 to host concerts and lectures, and they have continued here until the present day. The ethos of “affordable classical music for all” still remains.
