The Road to Ethics: Freethinkers, Radicals and Non-conformists

Join guide Julie Chandler for a walking tour and discover some of London’s ethical history, from the birth of the Ethical Movement to the rise of radical freethinking. Hear the stories of some of the people who championed controversial causes such as religious, sexual and political freedoms, women’s rights and secular education – Quakers, the Bloomsbury Group, Suffragettes and social reformers.

The tour will begin in Euston, and travel through Gordon Square, Russell Square and Bloomsbury, before ending at Conway Hall in Red Lion Square, where there will be a short introduction to the building and the historic collection it contains.

Julie Chandler is a born and bred Londoner, Blue Badge Guide and founder of London Town Tours. She is also the co-author of Florence Nightingale’s London: An A to Z of the Lady with the Lamp.
