“The Tippett Quartet attacks every note with lovely gusto and precision – life-enhancing.” (The Times)
Conway Hall presents the first of three concerts showcasing Tippett’s five string quartets. This opening concert will be followed by a second in Spring 2027, closing with a final concert in Summer 2027.
The ensemble that bears his name pairs Tippett’s exuberant First Quartet with the searching, hard-won mastery of his Third, launching their 2026/27 exploration of all Tippett’s quartets at Conway Hall. Beethoven’s radiant ‘Harp’ Quartet completes a programme tracing one composer’s lifelong dialogue with another.
This concert is generously supported by the Michael Tippett Musical Foundation.
