Sunday Concerts: Tong Duo

Brothers Joseph and Daniel Tong have been playing together for over 30 years, since their performance at the South Bank Centre of Schubert’s Fantasy in F Minor, D940 as teenage students at Wells Cathedral School. This beloved work has remained a treasured part of their repertoire ever since. We are delighted to welcome them to Conway Hall for a whole evening of Schubert, culminating in the F minor Fantasy which began their career as a duo. Opening the concert is the composer’s Grand Duo, considered by many as the piano version of a symphony – indeed Joseph Joachim orchestrated the work, and published this before the original duet had been given its premiere!

Schubert | Sonata for piano duet in C ‘Grand Duo’ D812
Schubert | Andantino Varié in B minor D823/2
Schubert | Rondo in A D951
Schubert | Fantasie in F minor D940
