White Is Not A Neutral Colour
3rd February 2018 · 6:30pm - 8:30pm
In person | Virtual event
In the UK having white skin means something. In this workshop we’ll explore different issues related to race and whiteness through discussion and exercises. We take the approach that white people, no matter how well intentioned or anti-racist, sometimes lack awareness of their whiteness. It doesn’t mean white people are “bad”, but it does mean that they have an opportunity that is denied to non-whites. We explore what this means, where accountability lies for this and how it impacts others.
The workshop and discussions will be facilitated by Lyndsay Burtonshaw and Ali Tamlit of Resist + Renew and End Deportations
